Alan “Woody” Reeves, founder of multiple IT companies over two decades, launched CyberWatch in 2020 to address a massive gap in the technology and security offerings he was providing his clients.
Reeves’ companies provided IT services for financial services, minor league baseball teams, medical practices, non-profits, etc. and were used to secure computer networks. However, starting around 2013, he noticed an alarming trend — his clients began getting hacked from the outside.
For example, a large chiropractic firm client suffered a security breach when the head chiropractor’s personal Hotmail account was hacked. The perpetrator spent weeks in the Hotmail account, eventually taking thousands of dollars from the doctor’s bank accounts. While he had an IT management solution in place managing the network and computers, nothing was watching the doctor’s personal information.
